[Rd] Snow leopard ./configure "cannot compile a simple Fortran program"

I hope this is the place for this...

I have to rebuild from scratch under Snow Leopard, and when I  
attempted to build R-2.9.1, I get the following results from ./ 
configure:

Since this seems to be a 'fortran thing' methinks I should send this  
to Apple as well?
