[Rd] R does not compile any more on FreeBSD 8.0-CURRENT

I run 7.1-RELEASE (amd64) so I cannot comment on any potential issues
with 8.0-CURRENT. On my machine the r-devel tarball (r48148) builds
without any problems but I use

./configure MAKE=gmake

Have you tried gmake?
