[Rd] Mac crash with installing packages (PR#10764)

Whenever I install a package in R 2.6.2 via the "R Package Installer"
functionality (Mac OS X 10.4.11), R crashes after the installation.  When I
restart, the installed package seems to be installed fine, just the annoying
crash with each install.
