[Rd] Font problem (PR#9906)

OS: Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon
GNOME: 2.19.92 (build: 04/09/07)
Linux 2.6.22-10-generic #1 SMP x86_64 GNU/Linux

It works perfectly fine here with 2 recent versions of R (errors because
dialogues closed without any data):
