R-devel Mac OSX build wierdness...

Hard to believe.  The Autoconf code has

[AC_REQUIRE([AC_PROG_INSTALL])
case "${INSTALL}" in
  [[\\/]]* | ?:[[\\/]]* ) # absolute
    ;;
  *)
    INSTALL="\$\(top_srcdir\)/tools/install-sh -c"
    ;;
esac
])# R_PROG_INSTALL

so either you end up with something absolute or the string in the
default clause.

I assume this is a combination of you putting R_HOME/bin in your PATH
and MacOSX being case-insensitive in some cases?
