[Rd] Problem testing R version 1.3.1 on SGI Irix (PR#1145)

   I've compiled R verison 1.3.1 on SGI Irix 6.5

   It fails its check when running the ts-Ex.Rout test with:

   It was compiled with gcc 2.95.2 (and the g77 which came with that,
which is 0.5.25).
