[Rd] Test builds of Debian packages for R-1.4.0

Test builds of the Debian packages for R-1.4.0 are available at
               http://cvs.r-project.org/~bates/R-debian

These packages are regenerated daily but the version number stays at
1.4.0-0, indicating that they are prerelease packages.  They are
created on a machine running the "woody" or testing release of Debian
GNU/Linux, which will become Debian 3.0.  They will not install on a
machine running Debian 2.2, the "potato" release, because of package
dependencies.
