absolutely not!
{unless you are talking Axum graphics which I hardly know and which
definitely are *NOT* part of the prototype!}

That has been one of the major motivations behind R development
and I think we *are* slightly better in lower level graphics

I think there is more than one way of layer separation and we *are* more or
less adhering to one..
Our problem has been to try to remain prototype compatible in many ways and
still do well. In the realm of graphics this is close to impossible if you
look closely...
