Interesting.  You're on a Debian system like myself?  The automake 1.4
sources do not have that, but the versions in /usr/share/... do, same
for libtool.

Anyway, I just realized that autoconf is available by anonCVS, and that
the most current versions of the config.guess and config.sub scripts are
always in the CVS tree.  Will update the versions in the sources.

[Peter: this is something else we should most likely always do before a
new release, similar to changing the version numbers in the FAQ etc.  Do
we have a list of these front-matter things?]
