In the following example, the NA is not printed.

x <- c(1,2,3,2,1)
y <- table(x)
z <- list(a=y,b=NA)
z

yields

$a
x
1 2 3
2 2 1

$b
[1]
   ^^^^
no NA here!

or

z <- list(a=y,d=2,b=c(1,NA,2))

R> z
$a
x
1 2 3
2 2 1

$d
[1] 2

$b
[1] 1 2

This seems to happen only, if an object of class "table" precedes an
NA in a list.
