R PLATFORMS

I would like (actually, during on of the R-core meetings at DSC-V99 I
was volunteered) to update the `PLATFORMS' file that comes with the R
distribution and contains information on supported platforms.
I think it would be nice to have a ``database'' with at least the
following entries:
NAME obvious
EMAIL obvious
VERSION e.g., 0.63.3
PLATFORM e.g., i386-unknown-linux
SYSTEM e.g., Redhat 4.2
CC/FC/MAKE e.g., egcs/g77/make
on Suns, MAKE could be `GNUmake' or `Sunmake'
NOTES additional info
Ideally, not only R-core and the maintainers of binary packages would
provide me with such info. In particular, feedback on platforms not
mentioned in PLATFORMS thus far would be appreciated.
NOTE: I would like to distribute names and email addresses in this file
so that people who have problems building R on a `supported' platform
would know who to contact.
Thanks for all the info in advance.
