Well I've *thought* about doing it... And the SPSS format as well. And
DB3. And...

http://www.wotsit.org has tons of information on this sort of stuff.
(Although on SAS, it's just the TS140 again.) It's mentioned on the
Ideas list at developer.r-project.org (on a machine near you...), but
perhaps some elaboration would be in order there.
