I'm sorry but I don't know anything about installing R on SuSE. If
SuSE accepts .rpm packages you could try to install those from the
CRAN archive. It may require a bit of work to get the libraries
consistent with what the .rpm packages require. The big distinction
is whether your system is based on libc5 or libc6 (also called glibc2
or GNU libc 2.0). A RedHat-5.0 binary requires libc6.
It is usually fairly easy to install from the original sources. You
could do that instead of trying to find a binary package.
