Largely because it isn't a very nice script. The output is tolerable but
not great -- for example it doesn't use some of the proper R headings for
sections and it doesn't hyperlink the SEE ALSO section. These problems
don't really show up in the help() output but are more obvious in HTML.
Someone (eg me in about a month from now if someone else hasn't done it
first) needs to work on improving it. I suspect Kurt or his minions are
planning exactly that :-).
On the related subject of regular expressions, I'm having trouble with the
\1 construction for the last matched expression
(eg \([a-zA-Z][^:]*\):\1 which I think should match things of the form
blah:blah)
No matter how many extra \ characters I put in it doesn't work.
