R-alpha: core dumped when reloading a library

I am currently finalising the writing of a library named "stable".
When I consider the following sequence

> library(stable)
> detach("package:stable")
$ R INSTALL stable    (after some correction in my library)
>library(stable)
> dstable(0)      # computation of the stable density density at 0

I get a core dumped.

Can this be avoided?
