Hi ess experts,

I am not a admin so I have to install both emacs and ess to my home
directory. I firstly installed latest emacs 21.4.1 to ~/emacs. It works
fine.

Then I follow the ess installation instructions to extract ess 12.04-4 to
~/home/ess. Add (load "~/ess/ess-12.04-4/lisp/ess-site") to .emacs.

Start emacs and I receive
-------
Loading font-lock...done
Loading /HOMEPATH/ess/ess-12.04-4/lisp/ess-site (source)...


An error has occurred while loading `/HOMEPATH/.emacs':

Symbol's function definition is void: locate-file

In the minibuffer reads:
----
Error in init file: Symbol's function definition is void: locate-file
----

Thanks for helping out! Working on a remote machine without ess drives me
crazy.
