[ESS] Strange behaviour of ess-eval-buffer-from-beg-to-here?

... and it's not always just the last prompt that's omitted. If you
only have short computations, they show up. But if some of the
computations take longer (like in the example I sent), they might be
'lost'.

In any case, I'm happy you can reproduce it (on Linux? I'm on the Mac
with GNU Emacs 25.2.1 (x86_64-apple-darwin13.4.0, NS appkit-1265.21
Version 10.9.5 (Build 13F1911)) of 2017-04-21).
