Ok, so it's your emacs installation problem. You clearly don't have the
full emacs, or the libraries are inaccessible.
Actually, I have just checked again. The feature 'files is actually
loaded by default in emacs 23 at least. So you don't need the above
(require 'files) thing. Check your emacs.
