[ESS] How does the ess-function-outline-file work?

Errr... yes.  This hole is getting deeper!! :-) Shouldn't do this
stuff late at night.

I get [No match].

So the question becomes: what could be missing, and then why would it
be missing?  Everything else seems to work.
