This is odd. Is this a problem new to 5.2.11 or to older ESS too?

A workaround for now could be to change inferior-S-language-start
so that it also sends the command to load the tcltk package, but I'm
not sure about that.

Can other windows users repeat this?

Hello Stephen, Henric & list member,

I can confirm that "library(tcltk)" is needed. I started R in emacs(21.3,
ESS 5.2.11) using C-u M-x R and provided as option (--internet2) due to our
proxy-connection.
Without "library(tcltk)" the package installation hangs, otherwise it runs
through smoothly.
