Hi,

Fyi, I recently upgraded from ESS 5.2.0 to 5.2.1
but encountered an error at startup
which Stephen kindly helped me solve.
Here is a summary, in case others encounter it.

The error is the message

"Symbol's function definition is void: executable-find"

and the problem seems to come from

essa-sas.el:98: (setq ess-tmp-file (executable-find "acroread"))

The fix is to put

(require 'executable)

in my .init.el file (XEmacs) before (require 'ess-site).

I am on Windows XP, XEmacs 21.4, ESS 5.2.1.

Thanks to Stephen for his time.

Regards,

John.
