a further emacs symptom

A further symptom is that when I load ess in ~/.emacs, "C-h a RET file", a
command that returns normally when the load statement is disabled, returns
"Wrong number of arguments: #<subr documentation> 5". The same is true if
the predicate of "C-h a RET" is just anything that would normally have
produced a valid return, for example, "char" instead of "file".

This seems to be clearly related to the "** ad-Orig-documentation called
with 5 arguments, but accepts only 1-2" compile log error on startup, also
caused by enabling the ess load statement.
