DDE-problem

On S-Plus 2000 and Win2000 I tried to install Xemacs 20.4 and ESS-5.19 
using all my available instructions.

I ended up with two type of problems:

1. Running S+4,  the process can't communicate correctly with sp2000 
sending an invalid path such as "dhomefrancescosplsdata" and then I got the 
message: "No such file or directory, ddeclient"

2. Sqpe+4  seems functionig, but at startup I got the message "Marker does 
not point anywhere"

Can I fix those errors re-installing again the packages? Can I get more 
specific information for my configuration?

P.S.  I installed also a bash shell (Cygnwin) and gnuserv (not functionig)
