Configuration help for R with ESS+XEmacs under windows xp with John Fox's instructions

"c\.xemacs C:\Documents" isn't a proper path; perhaps you mean 
"c:\Documents\.xemacs"?

Check where your home directory is (enter the command "set HOME" in a 
command-prompt window); .xemacs\init.el should be in the home directory.
