running GMT via ESS?

ESS v. 5.1.18 using emacs ver. 20.7.1

Colleagues

Has anyone used ESS as a front-end for GMT on windows machines? I 
don't see in mention of it in Heiberger (2001) "ESS: One interface -- 
many programs".
