Colleagues
Here is an outline of a perceived problem:
Using R with the ESS front end on a PC (see specs below):
I had returned a large object (about 15,000 rows, 3 columns) from a
function and it was scrolling on the screen. I tried to interrupt the scrolling
using the menu Signals/ Break. The result was a sreen lockup of both the
emacs ESS windows and the R graphics window. The problem is
repeatable on my system.
Any suggestions about how to avoid such a lockup (apart from simply not
doing this sort of scrolling to the screen)?

System info:
R version rw1020 on NT
ESS using emacs ver. 20.4

Help will be appreciated.
Thanks
