Use ESS with S-PLUS 2000 on Win'98

Hi All:

I am attempting to run splus 2000 using the emacs command M-x S+4 in a
saved buffer named tmp.st and receive the message 'deleted buffer
selected'. Obviously, I have missed something. I read 'readme.splus4win' but
am apparently confused as to what is required to get s+ 2000 to run. Any
help appreciated. Below is what I believe is relevant information.

Thanks in advance.

Shawn Boles

Using emacs 20.5.1 and ess 5.1.11, I have installed splus 2000 release 2 and
added the following to my path in autoexec.bat
C:\Progra~1\sp2000\cmd - this is directory where SPLUS.exe and Sqpe
reside..

I have put the following in my .emacs file:

(load-file "c:/emacs/site-lisp/ess/lisp/ess-site.el")
(setq bash-file-name "c:/cygnus/cygwin-b20/H-i586-cygwin32/bin/bash.exe")
(setq inferior-Sqpe+4-SHOME-name "c:/Progra~1/sp2000/cmd")
(setq inferior-S+4-SHOME-name "SPLUS")
(require 'gnuserv)
(setq gnuserv-frame (selected-frame))
(gnuserv-start)
