Good question.
Debian (ubuntu) always need to "derive" version numbers from
upstream.
As a matter of fact, the easiest would be to use 12.04
and that's what I have in my (uncommitted) version of ESS.
Would that (12.04) be fine?
It still does not answer how we should name patch releases in
general. What if we want another patch release later in April?
