Hi:

When reading through the ESS manual (.pdf format) for ESS
version 12.09-1, I found some typos. I just looked on the
website and it appears a manual for 12.09-2 has arrived,
but I believe all these issues still exist in that version.

A general comment. At least with acroread and the manual
printed with acroread, if a line is too long, you end up
with a black rectangle at the end of the line. The first
instance of this phenomena is on pg 13 on the last line.
Another instance is on pg 17 in the Changes for 5.3.1
first bullet, 2. item, and on pg 27 the second line in section
1.4.1.

pg. 43, line before section 4.4
in there '.emacs' file => in their '.emacs' file

pg. 51, section 7.4, 1st paragraph, 2nd to last line
control the amount if indentation => control the amount of indentation

pg 51, 3rd from last line on page
LFD (newline-and-indent) <- newline and indent is italic, but should
                            be bold

pg. 60, 1st line in section 9.4 - black box at end of line

pg 61, 1st line in section 10.1 - black box at end of line

pg 62, 2 lines after "* Input Ring:" - black box at end of line

pg 65, last line on pg.
developer-packages. You can do taht => developer-packages. You can do that

pg 66, C-c C-l
1st line after C-c C-l the usage is package:foo or name space:foo
3rd line after C-c C-l the usage is packag:foo or namespace:foo
[I suspect packag is a typo, and I am not sure which usage is correct
name space or namespace - but it should be consistent]

I hope these comments are helpful. Thanks.

Jen
