I found this on the wiki page:
       
       Since the release of GnuEmacs 22.1 both EmacsClient and GnuClient
       also work on “Windows” and offer similar functionality,
       e.g. execute arbitrary EmacsLisp code from the command line.
       
So, I guess it should be fine to replace all occurrences.
