Works for me with 12-03-r4729 and
GNU Emacs 23.3.1 (x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu, X toolkit, Xaw3d scroll
bars) of 2011-05-03
I don't want to jump to conclusions (but, I will anyways :o)
I see you have "modified by Debian". In my experience,
Debian does very weird things to emacs.
