[ESS-bugs] [ESS] trouble starting ESS

This looks promising. If I switch to my bash shell, it finds sas. At
the starting prompt, however, it can't find it. I added the SAS path to
my .cshrc file, and now "which sas" works at either the original or bash
prompt. However, I still get the same "No ESS processes running" when I
try to launch ESS.

Now, try the same thing in a shell buffer created with M-x shell
