Well I only use Emacs on Mac, but I have been watching this with curiosity:


      Releases

    * *Current Stable Release*: *22.3* (September 5, 2008).
          o Emacs version 22 has a wide variety of new features,
            including improved Unicode support
    * *Future Versions*
          o Emacs 23, the next major release, will have improved Unicode
            <http://www.unicode.org> support.
