Doing this:
> ?agrep
results in:
No documentation for 'agrep ' in specified packages and libraries:
you could try 'help.search("agrep ")'
Note that there is a space after agrep. A tab has the same effect.
I see this when starting R:

> options(STERM='iESS', editor='emacsclient')
Help appears in emacs buffers.
I reported this to R-bugs; Ripley responded:
