There must be.  Since we can reproduce Sebastian's problem now
by (setq ess-help-kill-bogus-buffers t) , we have two things going wrong :

1) contour's help buffer is considered bogous  {and Stephen was
					        trying to debug this}

2) The (mini buffer) message for such a "bogous" buffer is

      "no documentation"
  
   which is wrong and leading users to wrong conclusions.
