[BioC] Plausibilty of application of "modified LOESS normalization" to single channel arrays

I wondered whether it is possible to apply modified loess
normalization: "A modified LOESS normalization applied to microRNA
arrays: a comparative evaluation" , BIOINFORMATICS 2009. to single
color miRNA arrays as well.
