[BioC] Problem with metadata

Dear Claudia,
did you use hgu95a from BioC 1.8 which is also still in development?
(version 1.11.24)
If so you might try hgu95a from BioC 1.7. (hgu95a version 1.10.0)
Running a quick test using R 2.2.0 I could install hgu95a 1.10.0 just fine
but with 1.11.24 I got the same behaviour as you. So try 1.10.0 and
eventually upgrade to R 2.2.xx
