[BioC] operation between sets of genes

Hello

I have some sets of gene expression data over which I want to do some
operations like intersection and union.

genename1	2.3	3.6	4.6
genename2	3.1	6.7	5.5
genename3	2.3	5.3	5.7
genename4	4.8	6.4	8.5
........	.....	....	.....

genename1	3.4	5.6	3.5
genename34	4.6	5.6	6.8
genename45	2.6	3.8	5.8
genename27	4.6	5.8	4.9
.........	....	....	....


I want to generate a data.frame of the form

genename1
.........


with the genes thats belongs to the intersection of the two sets of genes
what are appropiate ways to do that.
