Yes definitely, there is even a special list server with mail
etc... two versions have been developped at this point they are
being merged, it depends on whether you want a more
unix flavored- the Darwin approach delivered by Jan de Leeuw
or the more mac application version which is all at Stefano Iacus.
The two main sites to look at are:

The email list that has many helpful hints is
r-sig-mac at stat.math.ethz.ch

I have been using it in all my statistics for biologists
classes for over a year now and the students seem to like it
(most of our biology students have macs for some reason).
