Hi Laurent,

I recently ran into the opposite problem of an inexplicable parallel test timeout with GitHub Actions that I was able to workaround by disabling testthat's parallel tests using the environmental variable TESTTHAT_PARALLEL=false (see https://github.com/ImmuSystems-Lab/toppgene/commit/b3ede460d6f106ddf32b131f2d194fc36bc15b1f); it may be worth trying out if one were to assume an underlying race condition or other stochasticity with testthat parallel tests. Not a great workaround, but, as you say, hard because to reproduce :/
