[Bioc-devel] release schedule

Hi,

it would make sense to stick to the R release schedule,
because R and BioC versions are tightly connected.

On the other hand, development in BioC is pretty fast,
and a year-old package might be "ancient".

It could make sense to dole out a point-release after 6-month.

This should be less hassle than a full release,
because the patched releases of R should introduce less changes
then the last days of R-devel before the freeze, and make the frantic
re-installations of the build machines in the last weeks
of the devel cycles less painful.

Just my 2c,

Yours,
Steffen
