Paragliding and Hiking near Seattle: Tiger Mountain (1/2)
These pictures were taken on August 6th, 2005.
Pure X-Alps spirit: we hiked to launch. It's about 550m of elevation gain.
The view from launch towards the NW. The conditions look perfect and off we go...
An aerial of the launch. Right behind it, Mount Rainier is barely visible in the haze.
I was so happy to be above Corinne that I immediately had to take a picture of her ;-)
Tiger Mountain is an excellent site only 20 minutes from Seattle. The sky was full of gliders on Friday evening.
That's the LZ. A (smart) pilot comes in early for a smooth landing.
Two tired pilots in the LZ (we flew for more than 3 hours). But it's fun to watch the other gliders landing...
After the lift peters out, the LZ gets very busy. And if too many pilots ignore the standard landing pattern...
That's what happens. There is nothing else to say than "Au Backe..."
Tiger at Tiger: that's all a piece of cake for him, having flown more than 30 hours and dozens of XC miles already.
