Heustock Mountain is a skitouring peak in a lonely valley in the
Glarner Alpen. Beautiful view from about half way up.
This is
in front of the Skihütte Mülibach. We rushed up the first 900m
(3000ft) of elevation gain in just 85 minutes.
After a
short break on the sunny front porch of the hut, my dad gets ready for
the second half of the climb.
Chris
climbing a ridge on foot. The village where we started is visible in
the background, 1700m (5700ft) below us.
With the
summit of Heustock Mountain already nearby, André does the last
part on skis again.
The view from the summit at 2471m (8100ft) to the
impressively steep Bützistock. Two of us are down at the ski depot.
Loecky
loves paragliding. But also skitouring! Right now, he's sunbathing on
the summit cairn.
The rest of the
crew on the summit. From the left: Chris, Sepp, Reto and Marcel.
Prepare for some action in fresh powder
snow. This is Chris, going full speed and doing a cornice drop.
An he
is moving on, on that very nice virgin slope.
Now it's my turn with skiing.
Excellent conditions here, yeeehaaa!
I
found the perfect rhythm and did 112 turns in a row. It makes the
heart pumping and the mind extremly happy. Guess (our count) which
trace is mine! This is also a view back to the summit, from about
500hm (1700ft of elevation) below.
Still
very nice terrain lower down. And down there, there is something that
we could maybe drop down from...
Yup, as all of us, also André goes off the
roof. See the movie (10s,
3.84mb) of Chris doing it.
Another view of André while he's airborne.
Sunbathing in very nice temperatures in front of the Skihütte. The
crew: Chris, my dad Sepp, Reto and André.
