Paragliding in Flims, Switzerland
Pictures taken by Adrian Lutz on the 29th of October 2005. Thanks Adrian!
This is Adrians glider, ready for take-off at Alp Naraus (1850m/6070ft), a typical grassy, wide open Swiss launch.
This is me, gaining the first few hundred meters at the edge in front of launch. Beautiful!
This rock face is the key to get real high. This unknown pilot is still low, but will soon hit a nice 5m/s (1000fpm) thermal.
Cool, my max. altitude was 3050m (10000ft). This is well above the upper launch at Cassonsgrat.
After more than 2 hours of flying, it's time for a break. I'm coming in for a toplanding at Cassonsgrat (2650m/8700ft).
The cable car was not running, so we had to place to ourselves. Happy Marcel tells the world.
The tiger doesn't want to return to the US. There are better thermals and more cows (=prey) in Switzerland, he said :-)
The conditions were so nice that we launched again. That's me flying over the Bündner Alpen.
It went magic later. Widespread and buttersmooth lift, awesome vistas with the low sun - a dream!
Late afternoon aerobatics show for the crowd. Wingovers, spiral dives, we had such a lot of fun!
Almost dark, eh? We watched the sunset in the air and landed down in Flims (1050m/3450ft) with the last daylight.
