Skitour to Drosbüel, P.2002

Pictures taken by Marcel on December 15th, 2007

This skitour isn't very well known, but it's very beautiful. It starts at the hamlet of Schuders.

Very nice scenery, just above the village. The view goes to Muttner Egg, also a great ski descent.

Betty climbing. Quite heavy and inconvenient that board on the back - I tested it later ;-)

View to Drusenfluh (2830m), with the prominent Schweizerpfeiler, a classic 6a+ climbing route.

Veeeery nice powder snow - again Betty climbing among the shacks above Schuders.

And they make for nice rests, too. "Clima perfetto", the thermometer on the wall showed 15 degrees Celsius :-)

Laying the first trace is, though strenuous, always a great pleasure. This is Kathrin following.

After 500m of elevation gain, we reached the hamlet of Maiensäss.

Kathrin arriving. Despite it was -7 degrees Celsius at the start, it was warm enough to go in a shirt only.

The skitouring giant... and the snow surface is awesome - like velvet!

Betty following the wide ridge which leads from Maiensäss to Drosbüel.

Kathrin and Betty following, while I'm already on the summit.

The girls on top, ready for departure. By the way, I found the descent was absolutely fantastic :-). Behind is the wide wall of Drusenfluh, where we had climbed Konflikt, still in summerly conditions, only 6 weeks before. I'm so glad that Switzerland offers perfect adventures in every season!
