Training course

This one-day course is offered as a so-called "waiting list course" without a specified date. As soon as the minimum of 10 attendees is reached, we propose two possible course-dates and then determine the course date that suits most registered attendees. This course is thought to be further education for ETH and external staff and is subject to a course fee.

Course dates and registration are administered by the ETH Kurswesens.

Description

SYSTAT is a comprehensive, general purpose statistical software, which covers the majority of well established statistical and graphical methods. Almost all commands are available through menu controls, which makes the program easy to use. To simplify routine processes and access functions not available through menu controls commands can also be coded in command files using an editor.

Goal
You will learn to know the face and concepts of SYSTAT. The course is mainly aimed at users unfamiliar or new to SYSTAT. The course is not recommended for people using SYSTAT already on a regular basis, because the course will start from scratch and thus be underchallenging for them.

Target group
This course is suitable for all Systat-beginners who would like to learn how to use Systat more efficiently.

Contents

Requirements
Basic knowledge of statistics (you should have an idea of the following expressions: sample, normal distribution, expectation, variance, median, null hypothesis, p-value, t-test, confidence interval, linear regression model, analysis of variance and residuals). During the course these expressions will be briefly explained, but the main focus lies on the application of SYSTAT. Therefore the above basic knowledge is required.
